NexTier ("NexTier," "we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect data when you use the NexTier platform and related services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, including account registration details (name, email address), profile information, goals, reflections, habits, tasks, and any other content you enter into the platform. We also collect technical usage data such as log files, device identifiers, and session activity to maintain platform security and performance.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide, personalize, and improve the NexTier platform; to generate AI coaching suggestions tailored to your stated goals; to send you notifications you have requested; to maintain platform security; and to comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone. NexTier runs no advertising business.

3. AI Features and Third-Party Providers

NexTier uses third-party artificial intelligence providers to power AI coaching and suggestion features. When you use AI features, certain information about your goals and context — stripped of directly identifying details where possible — is transmitted to these providers to generate responses.

Data minimization and sanitization. Before transmitting any data to AI providers, NexTier applies automated filters designed to remove personally identifiable information (PII). These are pattern-based filters: they reliably catch structured identifiers such as email addresses, phone numbers, government ID numbers and payment-card numbers, along with titled names, self-introductions and named relations. They do not use trained named-entity recognition, so a bare first name in ordinary prose can pass through. However, these filters operate on a best-effort basis. No automated data filtering system is perfect, and NexTier cannot guarantee that all personal information will be removed before transmission to AI providers. If you have concerns about the data you enter being transmitted to third parties, you should not use AI Features. By using AI Features, you acknowledge and accept this risk.

Current providers. We may use providers including Google Cloud (Vertex AI). These providers operate under their own privacy and data governance frameworks, including applicable commitments not to train models on your data. We will update this policy when providers change.

AI-generated content. Content generated by AI features is created by automated systems and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or not appropriate for your specific situation. AI suggestions do not constitute professional advice of any kind — financial, medical, legal, psychological, or otherwise. Always use your own judgment and consult a qualified professional for important decisions.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account yourself at any time from your profile settings — no request or support ticket is required. Deletion is permanent: your account record and the data attached to it are removed outright, not deactivated or anonymised. What survives is a de-identified access log — a record that reads and writes occurred and when, with the user identity, IP address and any descriptive detail stripped out, retained for security and accountability purposes and no longer linked to you. Payment records held by our payment processor are outside our systems and are governed by their retention policy and applicable law. 5. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption at rest for sensitive fields and encrypted connections (TLS) in transit. No system is completely secure; we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted to or stored on our platform.

6. Your Rights

You can access and export your personal data, and delete your account, directly from your profile settings. You may also contact us at support@nextier.org to access, correct or delete your data, or to ask how a request was handled. Residents of Virginia and other jurisdictions may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you within the platform and require your acknowledgement before you can continue using the service. Continued use of the platform after acknowledging an updated policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
